Share a Screenshot as a Link in a Second

Sending a screenshot as a link beats sending a file: nothing to save, find and attach, the link opens on any device, and the recipient sees the image right in the browser. Here's how to do it — by hand and with a single key press.

The manual way

  1. Take a screenshot: Win + Shift + S, then select a region.
  2. Paste it into Paint or Snipping Tool and save the file.
  3. Upload the file to a cloud drive — Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox.
  4. Turn on "anyone with the link" sharing, copy the link and send it.

It works, but that's five or six steps per screenshot, and your cloud drive fills up with files you'll forget about.

One press with Shot2Net

  1. Install Shot2Net — free, about 4 MB.
  2. In Settings → Capture, choose "Upload and copy the link".
  3. Press PrintScreen and select a region.

That's it: the link is already on your clipboard. Paste it into Telegram, Viber, Slack, an email or a ticket with Ctrl + V. The recipient opens the screenshot in a browser without installing anything.

If you need to point something out first, choose the "Open the editor" action: arrows, boxes, numbered steps, text, blur for passwords and personal data. You can get the link to the finished screenshot from the menu in History.

Is it safe to share a screenshot by link?

It depends on the service. Short links of just a few characters can be brute-forced — that's how people find other users' chats and documents. With Shot2Net:

  • the address has 16 random characters — impossible to guess;
  • files sit in private storage, and viewing pages are hidden from search engines;
  • you can delete a screenshot at any time — in the app or on the site — and the link stops working;
  • before uploading, you can blur or pixelate card numbers, passwords, addresses.

How long a shared screenshot is kept

No account Free account Lite and Pro
Storage period 7 days 30 days no limit
Watermark on the viewing page yes yes no
Direct link to the file — — yes

A direct link points to the file itself — you can drop it into a forum post, documentation or Markdown.

Video by link

On the Pro plan, screen recording works the same way: Shift + PrintScreen, select a region, "Stop" — and you get a link to a video that opens in any browser.

FAQ

Do I need to sign up? No. Links work without an account; an account extends storage to 30 days.

Will the recipient see my other screenshots? No. Each link opens exactly one screenshot, and there's no way to get from it to any others.

How do I take a screenshot if PrintScreen doesn't work? See how to take a screenshot on Windows.
