How to use Shot2Net
Shot2Net takes screenshots and records the screen on Windows. Captures are saved on your computer and, when you want, uploaded to the cloud with the link copied straight away.
Keyboard shortcuts

Change them in the app: Settings → Hotkeys → Change, then press the keys you want. Esc cancels. A single letter will not do — it would stop typing in every program; without Ctrl, Alt or Win only F1–F24, PrintScreen, Pause and ScrollLock work.
The same actions are in the Shot2Net icon's menu in the tray, next to the clock.
Capturing an area
The screen freezes when you press the key. Select the part you want with the mouse. Esc or a right click cancels.
Settings → Capture decides what happens after selecting: capture at once, or adjust the frame first and press «Done».
What happens after a capture
Chosen in Settings → Capture:
- Open the editor — annotate and save.
- Copy the image — straight to the clipboard, paste it anywhere.
- Save to the computer — to Pictures\Shot2Net (the folder can be changed under «Storage»).
- Upload and copy the link — the capture goes to the cloud and a link to its viewing page is on your clipboard.
- Upload and copy the direct link — a link to the file itself (Lite and Pro plans).
The editor
Tools: select, arrow, line, rectangle, ellipse, highlighter, pen, numbered steps, text, pixelate, blur and crop.
- With «Select», anything drawn can be moved, resized by its corner handles and recoloured. Double-click a text to edit it.
- The arrow keys nudge the selection by 1 pixel, by 10 with Shift. Delete removes it.
- Ctrl+Z undoes, Ctrl+Y or Ctrl+Shift+Z redoes.
- «Copy» puts the result on the clipboard, «Save» into the folder.
Recording video
Screen recording is part of the Pro plan.
- Press Shift + PrintScreen, or choose «Record video» in the tray menu.
- Select an area — or press Enter to record the whole screen.
- While the bar says «Preparing…» the recording is starting; once the timer runs, it is recording.
- Stop with «Stop» or Shift + PrintScreen again. ✕ cancels and deletes the recording.
The red frame and the control bar are not in the video. It is saved as MP4 and appears in History, where it can be played or uploaded to the cloud.
History
Every screenshot and video saved on this computer is in History. A card's menu (•••): open, favourite, show in folder, upload and copy the link, delete. «Select» deletes several at once.
The cloud and links
You can upload without an account — files are then kept 7 days. With a free account, 30 days; on Lite and Pro, with no time limit. Space and size limits are on the pricing page.
A link opens a viewing page; on free plans the image carries a watermark. Uploads can be deleted from History in the app or from your account page on the site.
To keep nothing on the computer, turn off Settings → Storage → Keep screenshots on this computer: uploaded files are then removed from disk as soon as they are uploaded.
Updates
The app checks for updates when it starts and tells you about a new version. Install it from Settings → General.
When something does not work
Write from the app itself: Settings → Help → Report a problem. Tick «Attach the app log» — it usually shows the cause straight away. You can also write to support@shot2net.com.
